Photo: The Sanctuary of Imam 'Ali (Arabic: حَـرَم ٱلْإِمَـام عَـلِي‎, romanized: Ḥaram al-Imām ‘Alī), also known as the Mosque of 'Ali (Arabic: مَـسْـجِـد عَـلِي‎, romanized: Masjid ‘Alī), located in Najaf, Iraq, is a Shi'ite Muslim mosque housing the tomb of 'Alī ibn Abī Tālib, the cousin of Muhammad and the first Shi'ite Imam after him, and the fourth Sunni Rashid Caliph. According to Shi'ite belief, buried next to Ali within this mosque are the remains of Adam and Nuh (Noah). Each year millions of pilgrims visit the Shrine and pay tribute to Imam Ali. The photo is from 1932.  He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare, And he who has one enemy will meet him everywhere.

'Unseen Rain: Quatrains of Rumi'
by John Moyne (Translator), Coleman Barks  (Translator)

Description:

Rumi's short poems have many tones and effects: some of them are quick, joyful, and whimsical; some are finely faceted abstract statements; some probe the inward space of patience and longing. Moyne and Barks translated these poems using a free-verse style, connecting these poems with great American spiritual poets such as Walt Whitman and Gary Snyder.
