You must know that that the Perfect Man is a copy (nuskha) of God, according to the sayings of the Prophet, 'God created Adam in His own image.'...Further, you must know that the Essential names and the Divine attributes belong to Perfect Man by fundamental and sovereign right in virtue of a necessity inherent in his essence.
(Jili)
For them the yin and yang are always in harmony, the sun and moon shine without interruption.
(Lieh-tse)
I was on that day when the Names were not,
Nor any sign of existence endowed with name.
By me Names and Named were brought to view
On the day when there were not 'I' and 'We'
(Divani Shamsi Tabriz, XVII)
Man, this major world in miniature, is a unified abridgment of all that exists, and the crowning of Divine works.
(St. Gregory Palamas)
It is a great truth, which you should seriously consider, that there in nothing in heaven or upon the earth which does not also exist in Man, and God who is in heaven exists also in Man, and the two are but One.
