Verily His command, when He intendeth a thing, is that He saith unto it: Be! and it is.
(Quran, XXXVI. 82)
Do not fondly imagine that God, when he created the heavens and the earth and all creatures, made one thing one day and another the next. Moses describes it thus it is true, nevertheless he knew better: he did so merely on account of those who are incapable of understanding or conceiving otherwise. All God did was: he willed and they were.
(Meister Eckhart)
The force with which God works is his will; and his very being consists in willing the existence of all things...For God wills things be, and, in that way, these things also have existence.
(Hermes)
God's thoughts are immidiately translated into real existences...God's conceptions are at once objective essences.
(Michael Sendivogius)
How great is the power of God! His mere will is creation; for God alone created, since He alone is truly God. By a bare wish His work is done, and the world’s existence follows upon a single act of His will.
(Clement of Alexandria)
He commanded, and they were created.
(Psalm CXLVIII, 5)
When God set forth to create the universe, his Thought encompassed all the worlds at once...All were created in a single moment.
(Zohar)
Without effort he sets in motion all things by mind and thought.
(Xenophanes)
For with God, to will is to accomplish, inasmuch as, when he wills, the doing is completed in the self-same moment as the willing.
(Hermes)
The lord having dwelt in that egg (Brahmanda) for a year,  spontaneously, by his own mediation, split that egg in two.
And with those two shares he formed the heaven and the earth, in the middle the sky and the eight regions, and the perpetual place of waters.
(Manava-dharma-sastra, I. 12, 13)

Description:
A new translation from the Latin of this important alchemical work. Includes historical and comparative notes plus a section on the life of Sendivogius which contains rare documents drawn from Lenglet du Fresnoy's Histoire containing the Lettre of Desnoyers and the Vie de Sendivogius.

Michal Sedziwoj (Michael Sendivogius, Sedzimir) (1566–1636) of Ostoja coat of arms was a Polish alchemist, philosopher, and medical doctor. A pioneer of chemistry, he developed ways of purification and creation of various acids, metals and other chemical compounds. He discovered that air is not a single substance and contains a life-giving substance-later called oxygen 170 years before similar discoveries by Scheele and Priestley. He correctly identified this 'food of life' with the gas (also oxygen) given off by heating nitre (saltpetre). This substance, the 'central nitre', had a central position in Sedziwoj's schema of the universe.
