Framed Art Panel | Holy Ka'aba & Masjid an-Nabawi

€95,00

Description of Panel Portraying the Haramain in Mecca and Medina

The artwork is a high quality reproduction of two art panels featuring the Holy Ka'aba ( ٱلْكَعْبَة‎) and Masjid an-Nabawi of Prophet Muhammad  ( المسجد النبوي). It is dated 1880 and comes from Bikaner in India. At the bottom of each image, there is the signature of  Fateh Muhammad Mussawar in Devanagari which reads from left to right. Devanagari is a script based on the ancient Brahmi writing used in the Indian subcontinent.

On the image on the right of the Prophetic mosque, in Arabic calligraphy, is written 'مدينة المنورة: على صاحبها أفضل التحية' which translates to 'Madinah Al Munawwarah: To the master [of the house] the best of greetings'. On the image on the left of the House of God, in Arabic calligraphy, is written 'مكة المكرمة: زاد الله شرفها إلى يوم القيامة' which translates to 'Makkah al-Mukarramah: God increases her honor till Judgement Day'.
