Description of Cotton Shawl from Tarim, Hadhramaut
Anas ibn Malik narrates that from all the different types of clothing, the Prophet ﷺ liked a Yemeni shawl the most. It was of several colors.
Anas ibn Malik narrates that The Messenger of Allah ﷺ out of all shawls preferred to cover themselves with a 'Habirah' shawl (cotton edged Yemeni shawl).
The Yemeni shawl also has been reported to have been the bridal gift between Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Sayida Fatimah.
Maintaining Your Stole
To maintain the shawl, hand-wash it separately in cool water with a small amount of delicate non-biological detergent. Do not tumble dry. Avoid fabric softeners, as this can dull the finish. Use medium heat when ironing.
