Sanad Collective is a national registered charity, based on the principles of Traditional Islam. It works across the country to provide religious, educational and social services. The primary tenets of the organization are: Seeking Wisdom, Nurturing the Soul, Sharing Compassion.
The director of Sanad Collective is Shaykh Hamdi Ben Aissa who studied Islamic Sciences in a traditional milieu in Tunisia with his father, a Zaytuna University-trained scholar and Imam. He went on to study with the world-renowned Teacher, Habib ‘Umar, who became Shaykh Hamdi’s Guide. The Rhoda Institute is the Ottawa locale of Sanad Collective, where Shaykh Hamdi serves as Imam, mentor, counsellor, and chaplain. Sanad Collective also has a locale in Montreal, Dar al Muhajir, where weekly gatherings are held and classes offered. Shaykh Hamdi offers classes, speaks at public events and holds seminars and retreats in cities across Canada and in France.
